NEXT
New Excellent Teacher Training is a program of Gratz College in Philadelphia. They recognize the needs of congregational school educators and are offering high quality online professional development. CJE is partnering with NEXT in order to provide resources to offset the expense of the coursework.
Through our generosity, all NEXT programs are subsidized up to 75% for Jewish educators in the Baltimore City/Baltimore County area. In order to qualify for the 25% subsidy, you must attend at least one in-person session (dates to be determined and with educator input) at the organization. Upon completion of the course, you can apply for a stipend from Charles Crane Family Foundation for reimbursement of up to 50% of the cost.
Professional Development Workshops
We presents a diverse mix of professional development workshops to meet congregational school educators’ ever-changing needs. Programs address relevant topics including parent communication, class management, assessment, instruction, content, and the needs of diverse families.
B’More Disability Awareness and Sensitivity Workshops
Fun and creative workshops are available for teachers, classes, camps, synagogues and Jewish organizations to learn positive and empowering messages about sensitivity and inclusion to foster acceptance of individuals with disabilities. Additional training for teachers on how to weave inclusion and awareness concepts throughout the school year is also available.

Congregational School Conference
In 2019, five congregational schools collaborated with us on the design of a congregational school conference, the first one in eight years. We look forward to developing for professional development opportunities with the schools.
Israel Educators Community of Practice (CoP)
We believe that at the heart of engaging and meaningful Israel Education, are Israel Educators who are deeply knowledgeable, specifically skilled, and nuanced in their approach. To that end we convene Israel educators several times a year to discuss complexity and struggle in teaching Israel while reinforcing the foundation of love and emotional attachment to it. We also connect educators to a variety of Israel education professional development opportunities.
